  • Is USL Y the same thing as Super Y?

    Evolving from the historic Super Y League, USL Youth provides alignment between the USL’s youth initiatives and the full USL ecosystem’s youth-to-pro pathway. It focuses on building and engaging a vibrant youth soccer community through events, content, and experiences, providing an integral step in the soccer journey of players, coaches, clubs, and families. Nearly 600 teams and more than 10,000 players participated in USL Youth in 2024.


    USL Youth aims to meet you where you are on your soccer journey and support why you do it.

  • What uniforms will they wear?

    All players will receive a white and blue jersey to wear at games and training sessions.


  • How long is the season?

    Training will be from early June to the first week in August, and we will post a specific training schedule once we get the game schedule. Game schedules are generally worked out by the middle of May. With

    each team having 7-10 games.

  • How much is it to play?

    The cost is $575 per player


  • What are travel requirements?

     U10 teams will play more locally and potentially the Chicagoland area with no overnight trips


     For the U11-U19 age groups, we can play as local as the Chicagoland area, or as far as Toledo, stretching between Indiana, and Michigan. We will know more about the specific team's schedule after the scheduling meeting in early spring. We will try to keep out of state trips to 1 overnight to cut down on costs. The makeup of the league differs per age group.


     U11-U19 teams that qualify for Nationals will have the opportunity to play in Florida in December.

  • Where are games played?

    Since teams in the league are from all over the Midwest, most games will be played at neutral locations.


    The 2025 neutral locations have NOT been announced yet however below is a list of the locations from 2023 and 2024. There is a possibility that the games will be at one or two of the neutral sites and potentially more local games against teams from the area.

  • What age group will we play?

    Super Y is designed for the 2025/2026 seasons meaning it is one year ahead of the current playing year for athletes.

    We may combine younger age groups to form stronger rosters with more depth.

  • Can outside players play for our team?

    Yes, players from any club are able to try out and participate in this competition without a release from

    their current clubs.

  • When and where are practices?

    Practices will be held twice weekly either at UW-Parkside in Kenosha, WI or SCORe in Franksville WI.


    Each coach will share their specific days, times and location with their team.

  • What are practice requirements?

    We appreciate your participation and would like to inform you that, based on the responses and team selections indicated in your invitation email, we will provide clarity regarding the designated coaches and the locations for training sessions. 


    Each team will have two training sessions per week, with the coaching provided by your assigned coach, ensuring a focused and productive environment for skill development. We aim to schedule these sessions at times that are realistic and convenient, considering the travel needs of players coming from various communities. 


    Should any conflicts arise regarding the proposed schedule, we encourage you to reach out to the Director of Coaching (DOC) for assistance. Your cooperation and communication are vital in facilitating a smooth and effective training experience for all participants, and we are committed to fostering a supportive atmosphere conducive to player growth and teamwork. 

  • How many will be on roster?

    We would like to form teams with rosters of 18 players for (u13-19) and 16 for (u12) knowing the conflicts that the summer brings. Having a full roster of players helps create a competitive training environment and prepares the players for the challenge of games.

  • How do I secure my spot?

    We will host tryouts on the 5th and 14th.  Upon completion all coaches will go through and make teams accordingly.  Once complete we will send out offers.


    Once offers are sent, parents will have 48 hours to accept the roster spot for their child.  

  • Who will coach my team?

    In our commitment to delivering a high-quality soccer experience, we will strategically assign a local coach from among our esteemed Rush Union staff, Rush Southeast coaches, or AFC Union personnel who can dedicate themselves to the program throughout the summer months. This approach not only fosters community engagement but also ensures that every player receives guidance from coaches who are passionate about their development and familiar with our organizational values. We recognize the importance of creating a positive and enriching environment for both players and their families, and we will carefully select coaches who prioritize effective communication, skill development, and sportsmanship.
